There is something very special about the AC Thomas House. The house itself is full of some of the most beautiful floor to ceiling woodwork I’ve ever seen. But the real bonus is the House Managers, Clarissa and Mahlon, who are personable, caring, and just plain on it! We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts, clearly made with love. We are so glad we found this home away from home in New Harmony!

It really takes you back to the era of the early 20th century but with 21st century amenities and being such a wee walk into town, was an added bonus. I could easily have stayed longer. There is lots of room! I would highly recommend this beautiful and charming house for just a room stay or for a group gathering.

The beds in the Gallery Suite are super comfortable!

My bridesmaids and I stayed in the Gallery suite, it was a perfect place for us to hang out and get ready for the wedding! The home was beautiful, and well taken care of. Our host was lovely and very helpful. Next time I stay in New Harmony I will stay at the house again.

The AC Thomas house is so beautiful and the Gallery Suite was perfect for our family of 3. The whole place was beautifully decorated and very clean. The house is so close to everything and made it so fun for us to be able to walk everywhere with our 2yo. Thank you again for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back!

The furniture and accessories are period perfect with so much to look at one could spend the whole visit exploring and exclaiming. However, it was the attitude of “what can we do for you to make this stay perfect?” that really impressed me.

What a charming place, and the perfect setting for our gathering. The gorgeous Loft Suite has elevator access for my aging mother. The AC Thomas House offered everything we needed.  We spent the long weekend sharing old memories and making new ones. Honestly, we all felt special staying here! Thanks so much to everyone at A. C. The Loft Suite was lovely and super spacious. It had an incredibly comfortable king bed and luxurious linen sheets. The views are spectacular and the bathroom is very spacious with high quality towels and soap and shampoo from the New Harmony Soap Shoppe. We had such a great time!

We had a wonderful stay in the President Taft room with a comfortable king bed and large bathroom. In a word, fantastic!

I stayed in the President Taft Room and loved it! So spacious and comfortable – and so special to know the President himself once slept here. The house is wonderful and the town is so picturesque. I definitely hope to return again someday.

I highly recommend the Taft Suite, so comfortable and I can now say I stayed in a room that President Taft stayed in! Way cool!

So much space! The bedding was perfect; I wanted to take it home with me. Highly recommended!

Escape to a bit of heaven and be pampered in beautiful New Harmony. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we felt as if we were transported back to a simpler time. We couldn’t have chosen a better location from which to explore New Harmony.

The service we received was truly second to none. We appreciated the thoughtful details as well as the first-class food. Located in the heart of New Harmony, the staff were helpful when it came to choosing restaurants and activities. We can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful house in a great location. The house manager was extremely helpful and welcoming, and is also a great cook. Breakfast each morning was different and tasty. Special requests are accommodated. The location is ideal for visiting New Harmony. The house is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and the hospitality outstanding. We will be back.

This was truly a visit back in time. The A.C. Thomas house is beautifully restored and furnished with furnishings from the past. The gardens are very well tended to. The place settings are elegant and the food is wonderful and beautifully presented.

The house was perfect for our needs and the staff was very accommodating. Plenty of room to play cards and hang out together, yet have privacy in your own room and bath.

Breathtaking decor and service. New Harmony is a jewel of a town with a rich cultural history. A.C. Thomas House is a great place to stay just outside the center of the historic downtown. The house is filled with period-accurate furnishings, fine china and the property is spotless.  I highly recommend checking out this house.

This was a great decision (one of the few that I’ve made in my life!) The accommodations are superior in every way. To be able to sit and read in the Victorian living room in the evening was a real pleasure that I won’t soon forget. The neighborhood is simply filled with architectural, design, and landscaping delights. I felt transported 100 or more years into the past. The host left no doubt that she should be in the “Breakfast Hall of Fame!”

Beautiful property. Great location. Ample breakfast included. If you like old, beautifully restored homes with loads of character, consider the AC Thomas House. It checks all the boxes.

The woodwork in this home is incredible and the antiques are equally as beautiful. There is a great front porch to sit and have your coffee. If you love antique homes this is the place to stay!

What a wonderful place to stay! New Harmony is a lovely little gem. This house is even better. Such a rich history and gracious host! The breakfast was something I would expect at a 5 star restaurant.

The original condition of the AC Thomas House was a real treat, while having nice modern amenities.

They were super accommodating with our later check-in and the house was absolutely amazing! I want to especially thank them for making us an amazing breakfast, which was perfect for our dietary restrictions, and for giving us a tour of the house, history of the town, and recommendations for things to do and see. Can’t wait to return!

This house transports you back in time and is so quaint. It is very well maintained; everything you could want for if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. I will definitely be back for another visit in the future.

Great house, great hosts! It was like living in another time, but with modern convenience! The elegant house has been beautifully restored. The rooms upstairs were classic and comfortable, the rooms downstairs were cozy and charming. Breakfast was a treat, and our host was a wealth of local lore and historical information. This will always be the first place we check when planning future trips to New Harmony.

This is a beautiful house located in the heart of New Harmony within walking distance of all the shops and points of interest. The hosts are friendly and laid back, offering a great balance of interaction/privacy. Breakfast was wonderful and we appreciated being able to use the kitchen. Will definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.

I have stayed many places in New Harmony and I visit the town 2x a year. This is my favorite spot, and we will be coming back!

This is an amazingly spacious way to stay as a family in New Harmony – with the addition of an incredible breakfast! I loved the board games!

Wonderful place to stay with a group. They had everything we needed for four ladies to enjoy a weekend in New Harmony. Comfy beds, lots of space, two bathrooms! The host was wonderful and we enjoyed talking with her.

Absolutely stunning Victorian house with each room a unique treasure. The upstairs is amazing. You can walk to everything in town; great location.

Everything was great! The host set a friendly mood for the trip that was continued by the locals. We were provided a great breakfast and staff were responsive to any need that arose.

This beautiful home is a delight to both the eyes and soul. It is situated in the perfect spot for exploring the quaint New Harmony town. I stayed in the Taft Room, where President Taft actually stayed while visiting the area! The bed was comfy and the room inviting. The decor of the house is exquisite. I will definitely return to this B&B!

New Harmony Indiana is a jewel of a town with a rich cultural history. A.C. Thomas House is a great place to stay just outside the center of the historic downtown. The house is filled with period accurate furnishings, fine china and the property is spotless. Each room or suite has a unique theme of decor so multiple visits to experience different rooms is a great idea. The town is a golf cart community and carts are available for rent at the visitors center or all of the sights are available on foot. The homemade breakfasts at 9:00 am each morning are exquisite and your breakfast table will be set with fancy place settings consistent with the rest of the home’s decor. I highly recommend checking out this house when visiting New Harmony.

My husband and I recently spent 5 days/ 4 nights at A.C. Thomas house, and will stay again. Breakfast was impressive, and room/house very clean and well cared for in period decor. The staff was welcoming and attentative when we needed something. The house is located very close to anything and everything you would want / need in the picturesque town.

My mom and I, along with another mom/daughter, chose New Harmony as the destination for our annual Mother’s Day Getaway. The A.C. Thomas House was the perfect choice for our lodging. It was beautiful and so accomodating. We were the only guests and really enjoyed sitting in the parlor in the evenings, enjoying some wine, and conversation. We created great memories to treasure!

My family gathered for a funeral and wanted to make the trip into a reunion. The house was perfect for our needs and the staff was very accommodating. Plenty of room to play cards and hang out together, yet have privacy in your own room and bath. Delicious breakfasts and the kitchenette in the Gallery Suite allowed us to prepare lunches and keep snacks out. Just enough to see around town, or relax at the BnB.

We loved A. C. Thomas House! We stayed there the night before our wedding and the night of. It was right down the street from our reception venue. This place is amazing because the girls can stay down stairs and get ready and the guys can have upstairs. They were very accommodating and friendly. The house itself was so cool with all of the history. I highly recommend the B&B.

We recently were guests at the AC Thomas House B & B in New Harmony, Indiana. This was a long-weekend stay (Friday and Saturday night) and were very, very happy with everything about the accommodations and our hosts.
First the hosts: friendly, accommodating, efficient, and engaged – in the charming town, in the historic house, and in making us feel welcome. The owners graciously took us on an unplanned, but perfectly enjoyable golf cart tour of New Harmony, complete with the inside scoop on the town’s history and interaction with the locals. Our house manager was very friendly and prepared a beautiful breakfast.

The house: historic, well cared for, comfortable and in a perfectly located spot in town.

The room: nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed. Slept like a baby both nights.

Overall: Somehow, our hosts were able to arrange for very interesting house guests to share breakfast and great conversation with in the morning.

When we return to New Harmony, and we WILL return, we will most definitely stay at the AC Thomas House again.

My wife and I recently stayed at the AC Thomas house and found it to be quiet and restful. We were the only guests and had the entire residence to ourselves during our short stay. We arrived at the house at check-in time to find a phone number to call for the house manager. She was located less than a block away and arrived in a short time. We were greeted and then taken on a complete tour of the house with an overview of its history. The house is beautifully decorated with Victorian era accoutrements and furnishings. We stayed in the Duchess Kate room which features a queen bed, small private bath, small balcony and views of the main street in New Harmony. Overall we found the area to be very quiet this time of year with very little traffic noise. All restaurants, shops and other attractions are a short walking distance from the house. Our breakfast was prepared for us, ready by 9:00 AM and was delicious. Absolutely a wonderful stay highlighted by the friendly, accommodating staff. Recommend staying here with family. Great place for a wedding party and guests…

The A.C. Thomas House affords a premier bed and breakfast experience in a New Harmony. This 1899 Victorian gem of a house, with quality period decor in each bedroom, beautiful antique furniture and finishes (including spectacular woodwork, rich window treatments and intricate ceiling wallpapering) throughout the home take you back to the Victorian period. The special breakfast and central location enriched the experience.

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast. The house is furnished in Victorian antiques. Each room is beautifully decorated and unique. The best room is the Loft which is a large room on the third floor. The bathroom has a large shower and separate tub. It was clean, the king bed comfortable and had a microwave, coffee maker and small refrigerator. The Gallery in the basement is also a great space. The bedrooms on the second floor are lovely, but the size of regular rooms. Breakfast is served in the dining room on the main floor. The house manager was extremely helpful and welcoming. She is also a great cook and breakfast each morning was different and tasty. Special requests are accommodated. The location is ideal for visiting New Harmony. Everything is within walking distance, and if you don’t walk, golf carts are available. The house is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and the hospitality outstanding. We will be back

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderfully quaint bed and breakfast for our one year anniversary weekend and it could not have been better. Not only did we enjoy our spacious loft suite at the top of the house, but the breakfasts in the morning were to die for! House Manager Clarissa was incredibly helpful and accommodating and we enjoyed her presence and advice towards what there was to do during our stay in New Harmony. Would 100% recommend this establishment and are already trying to find a time to take our families to this wonderful home for a weekend getaway.

The A.C. Thomas house is beautifully restored and furnished with furnishings from the past. There are many pieces of famous Karges furniture, made in Evansville IN, in the house.
The gardens are very well tended to.
We enjoyed our two night stay in the Taft Presidential suite, we understand President Taft actually was the guest of A.C. Thomas in 1914 and stayed in this bedroom. He was no longer president at the time.
Breakfast is prepared and served by Clarissa. Place settings are elegant and the food is wonderful and beautifully presented.
New Harmony is a unique little community with lots of artistic activity going on all year. Everyone seems proud of the community and all keep their homes and yards clean and neat.
We plan try to get a group of friends to come back with us for a visit soon.
